The greatest wealth is health
June 2025

No amount of money can buy what your body gives you for free—until it’s gone.
Dear Students, Parents, and Staff,
Warm greetings!
In our fast-paced world, where academic success and personal achievements often take center stage, it is easy to overlook the cornerstone of all progress—good health. As the Principal of this vibrant and growing institution, I feel it is both a responsibility and a privilege to remind our school community about the importance of nurturing our physical and mental well-being.
Health is not merely the absence of illness. It is a state of complete physical, mental, and emotional harmony. As the saying goes, "A healthy mind resides in a healthy body." This truth becomes all the more relevant in a school environment, where young minds and bodies are in a constant state of development.
Here are a few basic health guidelines we encourage everyone in our school community to follow:
1. Prioritize Nutrition
Balanced meals rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and proteins are essential. Avoiding junk food and sugary snacks helps improve concentration, energy levels, and overall immunity. Parents can help by packing wholesome tiffin boxes and encouraging healthy eating habits at home.
2. Stay Physically Active
Physical activity is not just for athletes. Regular movement—be it sports, yoga, dance, or even a brisk walk—boosts mood, focus, and long-term fitness. Our school is committed to providing adequate opportunities for physical education, and we encourage students to make the most of them.
3. Sleep Well
Good sleep hygiene is critical, especially for growing children. A minimum of 8 hours of sleep ensures proper cognitive function, emotional stability, and energy for the day ahead.
4. Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate
Water is often underrated. Staying hydrated helps in regulating body temperature, improving digestion, and increasing alertness. Ensure that you carry a water bottle and drink water regularly during school hours.
5. Mental Health Matters
Let us remember that emotional well-being is as important as physical health. We encourage open communication, mindfulness activities, and a safe, supportive environment where students can express themselves without fear. Our school counsellor is always available for students who may need a listening ear or gentle guidance.
6. Hygiene is Key
Simple practices like washing hands, wearing clean clothes, and maintaining personal hygiene go a long way in preventing illness and promoting a sense of self-respect and discipline.
7. Digital Detox
In this digital age, it’s essential to set boundaries with screen time. Encourage more face-to-face interactions, reading, outdoor play, and hobbies that stimulate creativity and connection.
As we nurture the minds of tomorrow, let us never forget to also nurture the body and soul. Together, as educators, parents, and students, we can build a culture that values health, happiness, and holistic development.
Let’s make wellness a shared goal—for a brighter, healthier future!
Warm regards,
Mrs Ratula Saha
